My wool sculptures are made using the felting needle which is a very long, sharp, barbed needle. By poking this needle repeatedly into wool fleece, the fibers tangle and make felt. The wool I use has been cleaned, combed, and maybe dyed and is like the wool that spinners use to make yarn. It is a bit of a magical process that allows for this cloud of fiber to transform into figures. I love it because it is a process with unlimited creative possibilities.
